Redcat Earthquake 8E Configuration

Radiolink RC6GS V3 Manual & Dual-Mode Setup

Training Mode (Low Power) Performance Mode (Stabilized)

1. Initial Setup Protocols

Receiver Binding

Link the RC6GS transmitter to the R7FG receiver.

  • 1 Power on transmitter and vehicle.
  • 2 Locate ID SET button on receiver side.
  • 3 Long press (1 sec) until LED flashes.
  • 4 Solid Light indicates success.
ESC Calibration (Hobbywing/Redcat)

Calibrate endpoints before applying limiters.

  1. Set Transmitter Throttle D/R to 100%.
  2. Hold ESC SET button while powering on vehicle.
  3. Release SET when red LED flashes.
  4. Neutral: Press SET (1 flash).
  5. Full Throttle: Pull trigger, press SET (2 flashes).
  6. Full Brake: Push trigger, press SET (3 flashes).

2. SWC Switch Configuration

Navigate to Menu > 13. D/R (Dual Rate) to begin.

Switch Position: DOWN

Training Mode (Low Power)

Limits current to motor. Prevents wheelies and restricts top speed to manageable levels.

Target Channel TH (Throttle)
Switch Assign SWC
Rate Value 30%
Exponential 0% (Linear)
Ensure fan cooling is active, as partial throttle increases ESC heat load.

Switch Position: UP

Performance Mode (Full Power)

Unlocks full 4S potential with stability assist and optimized acceleration curves.

Target Channel TH (Throttle)
Switch Assign SWC
Rate Value 100%
Exponential -25% (Soft Start)
Soft start allows tires to grip before full torque is applied.

3. Gyro Stabilization ("Servo to Balance")

VR Knob Tuning

Use the VR Knob (Channel 3) to adjust sensitivity on the fly.

35%

Recommended Start

Before driving, lift the truck off the ground.

  • Rapidly rotate the tail of the truck to the LEFT.
  • The front wheels must counter-steer to the RIGHT.
  • If wheels steer LEFT (into the turn), the gyro is reversed. Press ID SET twice rapidly to fix.

If the truck drives straight but shakes its steering back and forth ("fishtailing") at high speed, the Sensitivity is too high.

Turn the VR knob counter-clockwise until the shaking stops. For 1/8 scale trucks, values above 50% often cause oscillation due to tire mass.
